Who earns in Estonia and how much? 🇪🇪

salary levels depending on the profession

Were you curious to know how much and who earns in different sectors? Let's understand this topic, but before reading further, please leave your feedback in the comments.

Many will immediately say that people from IT and bankers earn the most money, but this is not always the case. Banks can employ up to several thousand people, and everyone cannot earn as well as their board members. In IT, it depends very much on the field. For example, in the Estonian public sector, an IT analyst of the 2nd level (there are gradations on the basis of which the salary level is classified within the same position) receives 1369 euros net. It’s another matter if an IT developer develops blockchain technology for a new cryptocurrency, there earnings can reach up to 4600 net euros per month. Or, for example, the salary of an IT specialist in the banking sector can vary from 2500 to 3500 net, depending on his experience, service list and, of course, impudence, but as you already understood, banks do not pay much. To be fair, even fintech organizations like Transferwise are also following the same trend that salaries are more conservative.

Specialists in the public sector, for example, who work in the archive and monitor, parse, classify and maintain the system, receive 1000 euros net. Approximately the same order of salaries in the sales sector, but again everything depends on the level of the employee. This is rather an entry level, but, unfortunately, the limits there are not so high and being a sales manager, you can most likely hit the ceiling of 1600 euros net, although, of course, managers who sell, for example, IT solutions will earn a little more.

How much do leaders get paid? For example, a level 5 finantsjuht in an average company can expect to earn €2 net. A bit surprising, isn't it? In many organizations, it is quite normal practice that managers can sometimes receive fewer specialists.

As for project managers, they can expect up to 2 euros net, but if, for example, they are highly qualified and have recommendations, then they can also receive up to 000 euros net, for example, working not under an employment contract, but as a consultant for a company, through their own firm, greatly saving on taxes.

And how much can board members of banks, IT, and other organizations receive? Here the flight of fancy is very great. But if you think about large Estonian banks, board members can earn up to 12 euros net per month. TOP managers of IT companies also receive in the same range.
